Parents are encouraged to use products on their children that do not contain many “additives” such as fragrances, preservatives, or artificial dyes. This is especially in true babies. Since many children suffer from skin disorders such as atopic dermatitits (eczema) and seborrheic dermatitits (cradle cap),
their skin is extremely sensitive and will likely become irritated from products containing additives.
When choosing skin care products for a baby (or any one for that matter) BLAND is best. If a product is pink, yellow, blue, purple, red, orange or any other bright color that definetely contains dye it is not likely very good for your skin. If a product has a very strong odor, it also likely contains alcohol based fragrances that are also extremely drying and not recommended for topical skin care use.
